Interview: The Age October 2014

Pardon my very delay in blogging these days.  Both clients new and returning occasionally drop hints that it has been a long time since I’ve written anything.

I have a million of articles I’d like to publish, but sadly time escapes me (being too busy is a good thing right). It is a goal to get on here more often to rant/rave/and tell self deprecating stories..

Back in October I was interviewed in the Age for an article about sex work and technology, which can be found here.

The article was focussing on how private workers are using technology & social media, which has been taking away from brothels.  It is a more balanced article regarding the sex industry, as not all articles are sex worker positive.  It also touched briefly on the safety measures of brothels vs private work, and of course everything I answered in the interview wasn’t in there.

All in all I think technology has greatly improved the sex industry.  It has given sex workers more of a voice and an opportunity to advocate against all the negative press the industry does receive.  It has also brought you to this page, which I can only be grateful for ;)

If you don’t already, jump on Twitter and request to follow me.

    Really interesting piece on TheAge.

I think the Internet is a godsend for private escorts. It allows a whole new platform of promotion, and like you say, it provides a much needed voice where there previously was none.

You’d hope that this will have an impact on general mainstream prejudice over time. But, I don’t know, not sure if that is optimism speaking rather than reality. Opening up the industry is definitely a good thing in my book.
